Managed
Server
A
dedicated server built to your specification and hosted
on our fully-switched network with high speed internet connectivity.
Managed servers are available in standard configurations
using dedicated Sun- and Intel-based hardware and choice
of software sets, including Windows NT, Linux and Solaris.
All managed servers support full root/administrator access
and feature Apache or IIS web services, and include hardware
and network monitoring with trend analysis for capacity
planning.

BT Application Hosting can provide fully managed internet
connectivity with the hosting option of your choice based
upon one or one hundred servers. All units receive single
or multiple resilient ethernet or serial internet connections
at speeds from 512Kbit/s to 155Mbit/s. We can supply upstream
internet connectivity to maximise responses for hosted services
aimed at US and European markets.
Security Services
Our
industry-leading security solutions include firewalling
technologies from Checkpoint, Axent/Raptor and Cisco Systems,
and intruder detection and penetration systems from Cisco
Systems and ISS. Our skilled and experienced system design

Monitoring
Esat
BT Application Hosting includes round the clock monitoring
of one customer device as standard, offering an instant
on-site response to system outages or conflicts and customer
notification on a pre-agreed basis. Our monitoring services
include on-site and off-site URL monitoring, ping tests
and SNMP trap tests.
Data
Vault/Content Protection
Our
leading-edge data protection services include managed hardware
systems that incorporate RAID controllers to minimise data
loss in the event of disk failure, dedicated tape back-up

Esat
BT Application Hosting offers three levels of support: Tier
One support is standard across all our services and includes
power cycling equipment, observation and reporting of indicators
such as hardware LEDs and entering keyboard commands. Tier
Two support includes hardware installations and upgrades,
and installation and upgrading of software.
Tier
Three support includes diagnosis of poor LAN performance,
router configuration and system troubleshooting.
